Hard-to-find crime novel based on the real-life murder of Helen Cramer from Knoxville who was found in her New York apartment, strangled with her satin nightgown, her body disfigured with burns from a cigar butt. Published by The Macaulay Co., 1937. First edition. Hardback in dustjacket. 253 pages. CONDITION: Reading copy only. All pages are present and for the most part clean and bright. There is some scattered aging / smudging but affecting margins area only. A couple pages have a small tear to bottom edge, no major tears and no writing. Previous owner's stamping to top of first reading page, Chapter 1. Front hinge is cracked but pages are secure. Dustjacket is glued to endpapers.
